RAGS & FEATHERS

BFA THESIS APPAREL DESIGN

Rags and Feathers tells a story about the presence of the free spirit in ourselves and ancestral lines.

Guided by archetypes, creation stories, and self-reflection, I map out the ways this wild instinct shows her face, heart and shadow in my life and the lives of women I’ve known.

Made completely from different silks dyed naturally using foraged and ethically sourced plants, I seek to describe the twists and turns, initiations and rites of passage we encounter; translating them through silhouette, material, natural color and form.
